Adding Text Boxes on the Form View

OK, now we'll add several text boxes on the form. Assume a sales contact contains these fields: First Name, Last Name, Phone Number, Email Address and Memo. The first 4 fields are put in single-line text boxes, and Memo is put in a multi-line text box.

First, let's add a single-line text box for First Name. Double-click the [single-line text box] icon, a single-line text box appears on the form, and a dialog box pops up asking if we want the data being displayed in the list view. Answer "Yes". Then input "First Name" as the column caption in the next dialog box. If we typed the wrong column caption, we can change it at the caption edit box. Specifying a blank caption will remove the column from the list view. Then, use mouse to drag it to the appropriate position.

Use the same method to add another 3 single-line text boxes for Last Name, Phone Number and Email Address.

Then add a multi-line text box for Memo. The difference is that we answer "No" here to the question asking whether or not to display it in the list view. (We don't need so.)

The default size of the multi-line text is too small, resize it by dragging its bottom-right corner.

Click "Next" to continue.
